Postnatal bodies can take anywhere from 6 months up to 2 years to heal, and once a body is postnatal, it is always considered postnatal and requires more detailed attention. Postnatal yoga classes offer postnatal bodies the chance to heal from laboring and birthing. Woman Spirit postnatal yoga classes are gentle, therapeutic, nourishing and healing. New parents are welcome to attend with their babies or without, whatever feels right for them on that particular day. The space is inviting and open for breast OR bottle feeding your baby whenever they need to be fed.
As a mom of three, I understand that there may be a need to stop and comfort your baby, to rest, to pump or prepare a bottle, for that reason, postnatal yoga class is designed around the needs of new parents. You will find lots of bolsters, pillows and blankets to provide a comfortable space for you and your baby to move, breath, rest, connect and nurture yourselves together. Class focuses on healing and re-educating the pelvic floor, slowly strengthening and stabilizing the muscles of the pelvis and the body, decompressing the organs of the lesser pelvis, using the breath to relax, relieve tension and stress, rest and allow your body the space to recooperate! Rest is the most important thing new parents need and Woman Spirit postnatal yoga class provides the opportunity for parents to rest and rejuvenate.
Postnatal classes are open to all new postnatal persons with babies up to 6 months or crawling. You may attend with OR without your baby.
Private Postnatal Yoga lessons are recommended for postnatal persons who have incontinence, diastasis recti, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic girdle pain or any other issues with the pelvis or pelvic floor.
